Hidden Lake Chicken Barn Lighting
Glacier Electric worked with Hidden Lake Colony on an energy efficiency project for their new chicken barn. By using CFLs, LEDs, and an automated control system Hidden Lake was able to save an estimated 99,274 kWh annually in the chicken barn alone. This equates to more than $5,500 in electricity savings each year for the colony. Glacier Electric was able to work with Hidden Lake on this project and provide a rebate to help cover some of the cost associated with more efficient technology.

Swenson Farm
Local farmer, Jerry Swenson, saved an estimated 10,793 kWh on his farm by upgrading the lighting in his workshop. Swenson took advantage of rebates offered by GEC to replace his old T12 fluorescent lights with new efficient T5's. Besides the energy savings and GEC rebate an additional benefit to this project is the improved lighting level.

Browning High School
The Browning School District worked with GEC to find ways to save electricity in the district. GEC offered rebates for efficient lighting and occupancy controls in the new high school. In the existing buildings, the GEC Energy Smart Grocer program helped the district realize savings in their walk-in coolers and freezers. All together the Browning School District will save approximately 44,783 kWh annually thanks to these energy efficient changes.
