Tree Trimming
If you have a tree or other vegetation growing near or into our power lines we will trim, cut, or remove the growth. Trees that grow too close to power lines can be an extreme safety hazard for children and tree trimmers. Only qualified workers are allowed to work within 10 feet of an energy lines. Glacier Electric tree trimming crews, or contract trimming crews are trained to perform this work.
We understand that conflict sometimes occurs when trees or other vegetation needs to be trimmed or removed along power lines, however, for Glacier Electric maintain a safe and reliable power system, trimming is imperative. We believe that some of these issues can be resolved by members remembering to think of the mature growth size of all vegetation before planting near power lines.
Standby Generators
Standby electric generators can provide an extra sense of security in view of Montana's unpredictable weather and the occasional resulting power outage. At Glacier Electric we understand and agree that a generator can be a convenient source of power around your home or business. We only ask, for your sake and the sake of our crews, that all generators be properly installed and used safety. Even small portable electric generators - if they are used improperly - can threaten your safety and the safety of our linemen working to restore power.
To protect yourself and your family, read and follow the safety instructions contained in every generator operations manual. Before purchasing a generator, please consider how you will be using it. That will help you ensure that you are buying a generator that is correctly sized for your application. Next, you will need to know how it should be installed and where to safely operate it. Finally, you will want to read the summary of safety tips presented in the following downloadable brochure to ensure the generator is correctly installed and used properly.
