Scholarship Programs
Glacier Electric sponsors three scholarship programs each year, the MECA Memorial Scholarship, the Energy for Tomorrow Scholarship, and the Powering our Future Scholarship. Applications for the scholarships are available at the GEC offices, on this webpage, and at the Cut Bank, Browning, and Heart Butte high school counseling centers. MECA Memorial Scholarship
The Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association (MECA) awards one $500 scholarship each year to a deserving student who will be attending college in the fall. The scholarship is funded by individual contributions to the Memorial Scholarship Program. In order to apply for the scholarship, applicants or their parent or guardian must be a member of Glacier Electric Cooperative.
All applications must be returned to Glacier Electric Cooperative by January 30, 2016.
Energy for Tomorrow Scholarship
The Energy for Tomorrow Scholarship program, which is funded by unclaimed capital credit checks, began in 2002. It is designed to offer opportunities to a wide range of students. Emphasis is placed on community service, extracurricular activities, and a personal statement written by the student. In their personal statement the applicants are asked to explain their future goals and elaborate on the people or events that have influenced their career choice.
Applicants or their parent or guardian must be a member of Glacier Electric Cooperative. Also, to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have an overall grade point average of at least 2.5, and must attend a college, university, or technical school the fall semester following graduation.
All applications must be returned to Glacier Electric Cooperative by March 7, 2016.

Powering our Future Scholarship
The Powering our Future Scholarship program began in 2014. The scholarship is a full tuition and fees scholarship to be used at the Blackfeet Community College in Browning, MT. The applicant must enroll in the Pre-engineering program at Blackfeet Community College in the fall of the current year.
The scholarship is open to all first time college students including graduating seniors, GED holders, or non-traditional students. Applicants or their parent or guardian must be a member of Glacier Electric Cooperative to be eligible for the scholarship. Applicants must also have an overall grade point average of at least 2.5 or have earned a GED.
All applications must be returned to Glacier Electric Cooperative by September 30, 2016.
